Accelerate your dance growth with professional 1-on-1 instruction in your favorite dances.
Private lessons help you improve at your dancing at a much faster rate than any other option, no matter what skill level you are at.
Through your relationship with your dance instructor, your lessons will be tailored to meet your individual needs, areas of improvement, and areas of interest as a dancer.
No partner or prior experience is required to benefit from private lessons.
5 Reasons to Take Private Lessons
→ YOU’LL PROGRESS FASTER – You are the focus of the lesson, which means you progress as quickly as you need. You’ll realize how quickly your dancing will progress through private lessons.
→ LEARN WHAT YOU WANT TO FOCUS ON – Unlike in most group classes, you’ll have the ability to focus exclusively on parts of your dancing that you want to get better at. Each private lesson will be tailored to meet your needs. Whether you want to work on social dance skills, increase your pattern repertoire, or improve your natural lead and follow ability, your instructor will customize the content of the private lesson to meet your needs.
→ DEVELOP A PARTNERSHIP WITH YOUR INSTRUCTOR – Through private lessons, you’ll be able to develop a partnership with your instructor, so that he or she will be able to understand how you learn best.
→ MORE CONFIDENCE – Most students start to build confidence more quickly through 1-on-1 private lessons, as you can ask questions, try what you’re being taught, and more without feeling the judgement of other eyes on you. Learning within a safe and comfortable space is what will help accelerate the process of building fundamental confidence in your dancing.
→ IMPROVE STRENGTHS AND CORRECT WEAKNESSES – It’s not always easy to spot errors in your dancing, but an experienced instructor can provide critique with a trained eye to help you improve your dancing. Rather than going weeks or months at a time with a bad habit, an instructor can help you to correct bad habits before they become engrained in your muscle memory.
What Do I Need to Know for My Private Lessons?
→ Each private lesson is either a 25 minute or a 50 minute lesson, your choice. Most students find the most benefit through 50 minute lessons, as it allows them to really get immersed in the lesson.
→ Arrive a few minutes early to change your shoes and stretch as needed. You can get the most out of your lesson by coming prepared and not feeling “rushed” as you visit the studio. We can suggest various warm-up exercises and drills to help you get the most out of your lesson.
→ Choose dance shoes that do not have “non-stick rubber” for soles. While dance shoes are ideal, they are not required. Ensure that your shoes are secured and won’t fall off when moving around.
